As millions celebrate London Pride’s 50th anniversary, Ted Brown, a gay-rights activist of Jamaican heritage, is adoring the attention. But hidden behind the photoshoots and anecdotes is an angry, grieving man. Ted has just lost Noel, the love of his life, to dementia. Worse, Noel had experienced severe homophobic abuse from care home staff during his final days. Reclaiming Identity tells the story of an iconic figure who’s determined to fight once more for LGBTQ+ rights, but feels stuck and afraid of facing a new reality of life without his rock. After a lifetime of reclaiming his identity, is Ted in danger of losing it?
