Long Synopsis

At the end of 2010 we received a package in the mail. The package contained an unedited video diary from a young girl living in a small town south in Norway. She told us that she wanted someone to tell her story. When we accessed the memory stick we were struck by exceptionally strong and brutally honest material playing before our eyes. Ida started harming herself when she was 10 years old. Today she's 25 and has several painful years behind her in the limbo of youth psychiatry. With her own camera she has captured her intense experiences over the last 6-7 years with an uncensored and direct gaze. Ida's story will give you a unique and personal peek into the complex phenomenon labelled deliberate self-harm [DSH].

Outreach Campaign Supported

Thanks to the Connect Fund, Ida's Diary will be used to challenge stigma associated with personality disorder and inspire hope for those it affects; be it those given the diagnosis, their families, or professionals working in a variety of contexts.
