SYNOPSIS

Half Nelson is a hybrid documentary about family, identity and belonging. Using live action, animation and reconstruction, we journey with the filmmaker to explore the story of a fateful train crash that alters the course of a family for generations. By reconstructing a key pivotal moment in her family story - the train crash that killed Edward Nelson and the ripple effect that radiated across generations of her family as a result – maybe she will find the answers.
