SYNOPSIS

Centered around Desiree Wood, DRIVER follows the trajectory and collective fate of an unlikely community of women long-haul truck drivers. Bound together by their love of life on the road, they have come to rely on one another to survive in an industry that regards individual drivers as anonymous and disposable.

A road movie that is at once observational and investigative, DRIVER will provide a rare window onto an invisible industry and one of the last truly blue-collar trades, on the brink of historic change due to automation.

This feature documentary is an intimate, living-breathing portrait of a life, a community, and a universe; more than a portrait of adversity, it is a tribute to the power and promise of self-organization in the face of seemingly insurmountable forces.
